In 1967, Pittsburgh sheet metal worker Joe Zivic moved down to Virginia and started ZM Sheet Metal with a business partner. The business has remained in the family ever since, with Joe’s son Scott taking over operations in the late 1980s, and Scott’s two sons working in the business and operations.
Our extended family includes 100 valued employees with over 1,000 years of company experience between them. There are no faceless cogs in this machine — the Management team is highly active and visible, making it a point to know every employee by name. Our employees are important, and they know it. That level of respect is passed on to our clients as well.
Along with quality, lead time is a priority. Products are delivered on or ahead of schedule.
Our 100,000 square-foot manufacturing plant is located in Winchester, Virginia, with a general office and plant located in Chantilly, Virginia. All work is done in these two locations, for distribution to nine states, including Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and the District of Columbia.
When it comes to distributors, we are meticulous about selection. Each distributor is an exclusive carrier of ZM products within their geographic area.
Our specialties include service for HVAC manufacturers and duct work; we work primarily with galvanized steel, black iron, stainless steel and aluminum.
